Colvin, Pioneer Nowata Resident, Dies James Henry Colvin, 85, pioneer resident of Nowata, died Friday at 4:30 pm at the home, 602 South Willow after a three year illness. Surivors are his wife, Mrs Rosa Williams Colvin, of the home, four sons, William Earl Colvin, Philadelphia, PA; Jake Monas Colvin, Ventura CA; Charles H. Colvin, Nowata OK; and Wallace W. Colvin Twist WA; four daughters, Mrs. Annie Wright, Ventura CA; Mrs Bessie Kesterson, Chico CA; Mrs Mina Houser, Douglas KS; and Mrs Grace Rose, Boulder CO; one brother, Charles Colvin, Klamath OR; one sister, Mrs. Lela Meeker, Hayward CA; 18 grandchilren and 24 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:30 pm in the R.W. Benjamin Chapel with Rev. Joe Crane, pastor of the First Church of God in charge. Interment will be in Memorial Park. Mr. and Mrs. Colvin were married near Alluwe 62(1892) years ago. He and lived in and near Alluwe and Nowata since 1869, and had worked in the Nowata oil fields and farmed. He was a member of the First Church of God.
