Carl Clay officiating. He died Wed., Feb. 24 at his home northeast of Okemah. Born May 10, 1908 northeast of Okemah to John Brook and Jeanetta Harvison Brook, he and Margaret Alyne Geren married June 14, 1934 in Wetumka. He was a Muscogee-Creek citizen and a member of the Wind Clan. He was a rancher and active for many years in the Okemah Round Up Club. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association. A resident of Okfuskee County all of his life, he was a beloved husband, father and friend, known for his honesty, hard work and humor. Preceding him in death was one daughter, “Scootie” Brook on Jan. 16, 1979. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Margaret Brook of the home northeast of Okemah; two sons, Jon M. Brook of Tulsa and Dan D. Brook of Okemah; one daughter, Candee Kay Collins, of Kilgore, Tex.; two sisters, Virginia Birk of Santa Barbara, Calif and LuCretia Harkey-Roberts of Okemah and Denver, Pa.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Bobby Bean, Jimmy Smith, Don Baker, Gordon Geren, Cecil Campbell and Claude Kezer. Honorary pallbearer were Nolan Rutland, Durwood McCord, Ira Skinner, Nolan Adams, Harlan Swinford and Terry Swinford. Interment was in Highland Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home.
