The contributor has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Source: Okemah News Leader, Sunday, May 23, 1999 Hooper Funeral services for Ronald Eugene Hooper, 53, Paradise, Tex., were held Sat., May 22 at Agnes Independent Baptist Church in Agnes, Tex. at 2 p.m. He died Thurs., May 20 at his home, in Paradise. Born Apr. 1, 1946 in Wichita, Kan., to Jimmy Clay and Johnna Faye (Killings) Hooper, he and his wife, Sue have been married for 30 years. He was a resident of Springtown, Tex. since 1972 and had operated Ron Hooper Plumbing Co. since then. He was a Master Plumber. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1964-1968, served two tours in Vietnam and was a decorated soldier. He then served in the USMC Reserves for a total service time of 13-1/2 years. He was a member of Agnes Independent Baptist Church. Preceding him in death were his mother, Johnna Fay Hooper; father, Jimmy Clay Hooper in 1995 and a foster daughter, NaNa in 1983. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Susan Hooper of Paradise; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jim and Tammy Hooper of Decatur, Tex. and Brent Hooper of Cottondale, Tex.; one daughter, Janise Hooper of Paradise; mother JoAnn Hooper (formerly of Okemah) of Wichita Falls, Tex.; step-brothers, Sonny Barnett and wife, Susan, of Okemah, and Jay Barnett and wife, Sandra of Wichita Falls and step-sister Sandra (Sissy) Casey, Also of Wichita Falls.; grandsons, Jake Hooper of Keller, Tex. and Troy and Tyler Hooper of Decatur; nieces; nephews and other relatives and friends. Interment was at Cottondale Cemetery under the direction of White's Springtown Funeral Home.
