He was born in Big Flat, Ark. , on Oct. 17, 1922. After his family moved to Oklahoma, he attended school in Okemah. He was a long-time resident of Tulsa, retiring in 1982 from Sun Oil Co., after a 31-year career. He served as maintenance superintendent for Sun Oil in both Tulsa and Monrovia, Liberia, Africa. After retirement he served as publications director for the National Iris Society. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Margarett "Kitty" Lack of Tulsa; his two sons, Michael of Wichita, Kans., and Gregory of Plano, Texas; daughters-in-law Lyn and Linda; grandchildren, Adam and Alicia; sisters Betty Lack Danenhour and Elizabeth Lack McCurdy, both of Okemah; a brother Henry Lack, Tulsa; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. John E. Lack, Okemah; a sister, Helen Smith, Lompoc, Calif.; and two brothers, Ralph and Kenneth Lack, both of Tulsa. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to either the American Cancer Society or the American Iris Society, 8426 Vine Valley Drive, Sun Valley, Calif. 91352-3656.
