McBride Funeral services for Melvin D. McBride, 57, will be held Thurs., May 20 at the First Baptist Church at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Jack Vance officiating and Rev. Jim Waller assisting. He died Mon., May 17 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa. Born Sept. 21, 1941 in Geary to Barney McBride and Verna Wright McBride, he and Jo Parson married Dec. 23, 1961 at Carnegie. He attended Last Chance Baptist Church. He moved to the area in 1973 and was a well known auctioneer and farmer/rancher. Preceding him in death were his parents. Survivors include his wife, Jo of the home near Okemah; two daughters, Annette and Mike Yocham of Last Chance and Kathy and Kenny Allen of Mason; two brothers, Norman McBride of Oklahoma City and Glen McBride of Newalla; two sisters, Doris Sechrist of Midwest City and Barbara Outz of Gillette, Wyo. and five grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Don Martin, Stan Hawkins, Carlton Sallee, Tom Wright, Gary Thomas and Mike Goodson. Honorary pallbearers will be Rusty Adams, Jim Erdman, Larry Brinkley, Dewey Enlow and Buddy Lassiter. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home.
