All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Bays, Johanna Stoner Johanna Stoner Bays, born: June 8, 1924, passed away Sept. 10, 2002. after a short illness. Born in Port Arthur, TX, but grew up in Flatonia, TX. She and her husband and family moved to Oklahoma City in 1959. She served in the Navy during WWII (1941-1943) where she was a 3rd Class Specialist and she taught radio communications and flight simulation and was also in the Naval Choir. Upon being honorably discharged, she received the WWII Victory Medal. In 1968, she became a bowling instructor where the kids dubbed her 'Sarge' and instructed children for the next 34 years. Survived by husband, Donald Bays, and four children, Phyllis, Robert, Lisa and Karen, and eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She had a full life where she was loved and will be missed by all. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, the 14th day of September, at 11:00 A.M., at Demuth Funeral Home, 1145 W. Britton Rd., Oklahoma City, OK 73114.
