All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Bays, Loraine Yeomans Loraine Yeomans Bays was born in Meridian, MS on August 24, 1934 and departed this life on Sept. 17, 2002. She was preceded in death by her parents; Al and Rose Yeomans and her sister Jean Sumner. She spent her early years in Ardmore, OK where she graduated from Ardmore High School in 1952. Most of her adult life was spent in the OKC area after attending Oklahoma State University. She was a homemaker for many years prior to pursuing a career in property management. Loraine was an active member of the community. She participated as an officer of the Oklahoma County Republican Party. She attended the 1972 Republican National Convention as a delegate. In addition, she served as a member of the board of directors of the Oklahoma High Risk Insurance Pool. She was a member of New Hope Methodist Church on Council Road in Oklahoma City. The loving family that survives her includes her two sons; Jerald and his wife Sherry Owens of Frisco, Texas and Hal and his wife Winnie of Norman, Oklahoma. Loraine leaves one very special grandchild, Daniel Bays of Norman, OK and her loving nephew, Gary Sumner of Healdsurg, CA. Loraine is also survived by a number of close personal friends that were like family. Her family will receive friends at her home between the hours of 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sept. 21. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her church. Loraine's family wishes to acknowledge her physicians, nurses, and friends who cared for her during her illness and to thank them for their kindness and compassion. We will miss her mischeiveous grin and we will always 'keep looking up'.
