Boswell, 75, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Lake Tanglewood Community Church with Dr. Roger Hubbard officiating. Burial will be private by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. Boswell was born June 1, 1930, in Oklahoma City. After graduating from Foster High School in Oklahoma City in 1948, he went to work for American Equipment and Trailer in the city. In 1951, he joined the Army. He proudly served his country as an artillery man in the Korean War, where he was decorated with the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars and the United Nations Service Medal. Upon his discharge from the service, he attended Central State College in Edmond, Okla. He transferred to Amarillo with American Equipment and Trailer in 1958. He retired from them after 38 years. During his retirement he enjoyed his favorite hobbies: hunting, fishing, dancing and wood-working. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ettie and Dick Boswell; two brothers, Dewey and Leroy; and three sisters, Barbara, Fleda and Cappie. Survivors include his wife, Jeanie; a daughter, Pam O'Leary and husband, Ralph, of Amarillo; a son, Brad and wife, Sheri, of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Shalean and Austin; a stepdaughter, Vicki Clements and husband, Chuck, of Houston; a stepson, Joe Johnson and wife, Mary, of Kilgore; three stepgrandchildren, Zechariah, Abigail and Caleb; two sisters, Kay Sullins and husband, Jack, of Oklahoma City and Edna Hales of Colingua, Calif.; a brother, Bob of Brownfield; and many nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be to Amarillo VA Health Care System, Community and Patient Relations, 6010 W. Amarillo Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106.
