Sill National Cemetery--Elgin OK Bashara, Charles Wilburn Charles Wilburn, 64, passed away March 1, 2003 in OKC, OK. He was born Aug. 17, 1938 in Red Oak, OK to parents Karl Ayoub & Edna Elayne (Renshaw) Bashara. Charles worked as a sales associate for Sears. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and was an active member in his community. He was a member of the South OKC Rotary Club, the OKC Running Club and Bicycling Club. Charles also was a mentor for HOSTS at Coolidge Elementary and a volunteer for CONTACT Crisis Helpline. He was an avid runner and participated in several marathons, winning numerous medals. He was a fan and participant in many other sports including boxing, racing, sky diving, softball, and football, especially the Denver Broncos. Charles was always lending a helping hand and received letters of affirmation for volunteer service from the Salvation Army. He was a free lance writer who contributed articles to the Capitol Hill Beacon, Moore American and also the Sears News Letter. He is survived by brothers: Jay Bashara & wife Donna, Clint Bashara, George Bashara & wife Bonnie; Aunt Mary Norris and Aunt Irene Kendall; and numerous nieces nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Oklahoma County, 4334 N.W. Expressway, OKC, OK 73116 or the American Red Cross. Services to celebrate his life will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday @ South Walker Church of Christ. Committal service following at 2:00 PM at Ft. Sill National Cemetery. VONDEL L.
