All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Vondel L Smith & Son FH--OKC OK Beaty, Myrtle Steadman Myrtle Steadman Beaty passed away peacefully on March 31, 2003, having lived 100 years and 7 months. She was born on August 9, 1902 to Smith Brown and Eugenia Brown in Anderson, South Carolina. Her first husband, and the father of her two children, Hobby Steadman, suffered a fatal accident in 1933. Many years later she married Rev. L. L. Beaty who also preceded her in death. She had a brother, Walter Brown and two sisters, Gladys Ranly and Stella Ferguson and all three preceded her in death. Myrtle is survived by a son, Harold Steadman and his wife, Jean, of Georgetown, TX, and a daughter, Mary Ann LaCour and her husband, Joe, of Shawnee, OK; three grandchildren, Richard Steadman of San Antonio, TX, Mrs. Nancy Rodgers and her husband, Harold of Highland Village, TX, and Dr. Sid Steadman and his wife, Cherri of Austin, TX. and eight great grandchildren, Michael, Amie, Katie and Jonathan Steadman of Austin, TX and Anne, Chris, Austin and Travis Rodgers of Highland Village, TX. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Myrtle was a very devout Christian and a lifelong Democrat. She was a member of the Capitol Hill Assembly of God for many years, moving to Shawnee in 1992. The funeral services will be conducted by the Reverend Jay B. Oaks, who was her pastor many years ago, at the Vondel Smith Funeral Home at 2 P.M. on Thursday, April 3, 2003. The pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons. VONDEL L.
