Lloyd E., 79, Del City, passed away Feb. 23, 2003. Preceding him in death were his father, Rufus D. Bailey and his mother, Nora Atlie Bailey. Lloyd was born on March 14, 1923 in Lamar, OK. He graduated from Visalia California High School at the start of WWII. His love of flight and keen interest in engines led to becoming a crew chief for the Army Air Corp. He was stationed in Horsham St. Faith, England, where he maintained B-24 Liberator bombers and flew many missions over Germany. After the war, he attended electrical schools and was employed at Tinker Air Force Base. He worked at Tinker for 32 years, earning the nickname "Mr. B-52" for his technical expertise. After retirement he kept active with interests in traveling, photography, cooking and computer technology. A kind and caring man, he always put others before himself and never stopped learning. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Imogene Bailey; son, Mike Bailey of Del City; daughter, Kathy Shelden and her husband, Mike of Edmond and, granddaughter, Kara Shelden of Edmond. Services are graveside, 11:00 am Friday, Feb. 28, 2003 at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
