Black, 54, passed away July 27, 2002. She was born August 20, 1947 in Miami, Oklahoma and was graduated from Miami High School. She was a graduate of Oklahoma City University where she also received her Masters of Education. She began her career as an educator as a teacher of biology at Putnam City Schools. She spent much of her life as a medical educator and church administrator. She is preceded in death by her father Jack R. Wimer. She is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer and Rebecca Black, of Oklahoma City and Edmond. She is also survived by her mother, Barbara Wimer of Miami, OK; her twin sister, Carolyn Taylor of Tulsa; a brother, Jack Wimer of Overland Park, KS; and several nieces and nephews She served God as the program coordinator, chair of the administrative board and many other positions at the Village United Methodist Church and served mankind by working at the Oklahoma Blood Institute, the Oklahoma Red Cross and the Oklahoma Organ Sharing Network. She was known throughout Oklahoma as a caring and compassionate advocate for the life giving benefits of blood donation and organ sharing. She served as the ViceChairperson for the Oklahoma Donor Coalition. She was also known as a loyal friend with a penchant for wry humor. She maintained a collection of eclectic obituaries and was fond of sending them to her network of friends via email. Private graveside services will be followed by a Memorial Service to celebrate her many contributions to life Friday at 1 p.m. at the Village United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Marolyn Black Scholarship Fund c/o the Planned Giving Committee, c/o Village United Methodist Church.
