All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Blackwell, Ronald Ronald Blackwell, age 67, passed away at home Monday, November 25, 2002 after a brief battle with melanoma. Ron was born March 28, 1935 in Oklahoma City. As a young man, he worked for his grandfather in the family business and subsequently was owner of Blackwell Honey. He proudly served on the Village Fire Department for over 22 years retiring as a captain. After retiring, he worked as an agent for Farmers Insurance until 1997. Ron had so many interests. He loved fishing and hunting and just about anything involving the outdoors. He continued producing honey as a hobby for many years. Ron was preceded in death by his father, Carl; his mother, Dessie Sticken and step-father, Harold Sticken. He is survived by his wife, Kathy, of the home; two children, Brad Blackwell of Oklahoma City and Kathy Erwin and her husband, Rick of Piedmont, OK; two grandchildren; Blain Hodgen currently stationed in South Korea AFB and Neile Blackwell of Oklahoma City; uncle James Judkins and his wife Madelyn of OKC; cousins he remained close to through out his life, Gene, Ray and Dave Judkins and other dear family and friends. We will miss him more than words can express. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Monday, December 2, 2002, at 2:00 pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 8701 N.W. Expressway, Oklahoma City, Freeman Powell officiating.
