David W. Bain, 47, of Midwest City, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2003 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born to Wesley G. and Peggy L. (Mote) Bain on April 9, 1955 in Tulsa, OK. He came to Midwest City in 1959 previously living in Tulsa. He was a Air Force Veteran serving 4 yrs. David was a member of the St. Matthew United Methodist Church. He was a retired assistant chief with the Midwest City Fire Dept. after 23 yrs of service. He also previously worked at the Tinker AFB Fire Dept. for a year. He was the president in 1994 for the Oklahoma State Firefighters Assoc. and also served as the Memorial Chairman. He presently was serving as the Director of Administration. He also belonged to the OK State Fire Chiefs Assoc. and OK State Retired Firefighters Assoc. David was honored by the Mid-Del 100 Club as Firefighter of the year Category II in 1991 and 1995. He was a graduate of Leadership Class MWC in 1989. He was on the Board of Directors for the Muscular Dystrophy Assoc. David was very active in his boys sports activities belonging to the MWC Quarterback Club and the Homerun Club. David married Adra Ann Sherrell on Jan. 11, 1975 in Midwest City, OK. He is survived by his wife Ann, 2 sons: Jesse and Joel Bain & wife Megan, granddaughter Emma Rose, parents: Wesley & Peggy Bain, brother, Chris Bain & wife Joy, sister, Sandy Otto & husband Darrell, nieces and nephews, mother in law, Edna Sherrell, brother in law, Jesse & Joel Sherrell, sister in law, Libby & Mike Morgan. He was preceded in death by his father in law Jess Sherrell. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, 4/7/2003 at the Rose State Communication Center with burial at Arlington Cemetery.
