Hadley C. Hadley Bowman, Sr. died peacefully in his home on April 4, 2004. Hadley was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Chalmer and Jessie Bowman on January 6, 1922. He was the seventh of nine children and is predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Calvin, Ed, Vernon, Paul and Tom Bowman and two sisters, Carolyn Lovell and Lorene David. He is survived by one sister, Normajean Cook of Stillwater, Oklahoma. Hadley enlisted in the Army in June 1942 and was stationed in Dover England during the D-Day invasion. He often told the story of seeing American and allied ships for as far as the eye could see moving past the English coast toward France on that day. Hadley returned to the states in 1946 and on November 27, 1946 he married Jean Lasater. Hadley later graduated from the University of Oklahoma School of Pharmacy in 1949 on the GI Bill. Hadley and Jean owned Bowman Drug in three separate locations over his five decades of practicing pharmacy from 1949 until he retired in 1995. He was a beloved member of the Bethany Community where Bowman Drug was located for its last thirty one years until 1995. Hadley was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Hadley is survived by his wife, Jean, of the home, and his four children and their spouses, Hadley Jr. and Candi Bowman of Oklahoma City, Tom and Jann Bowman of Salina, Kansas, Janet Bowman of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Mike and Amy Bowman of Chandler, Arizona. He is also survived by six grandchildren, David, Elliott, Amanda, Garrett, Griffon and Anna and by numerous nieces and nephews.
