Frank (Claude Franklin) went to rest in the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 7, 2002. Frank was born on August 7, 1928 in Luther, Oklahoma to Roy Curtis and Eunice Taylor Booher, the first of their four children. He accepted Christ as his Savior early in life, being baptized in the First Christian Church in Luther in 1938. Frank attended grade school at Luther and at Mulhall, Oklahoma, graduating from Mulhall in 1946. In high school he was not only a good student but was an excellent athlete, lettering in both basketball and baseball. He had a great appreciation for the outdoors and for work, and during high school summers he followed the wheat harvest north from Oklahoma into Kansas, Colorado, and Wyoming, increasing both his understanding of people and the great land in which he lived. In 1947 he married Virginia Shafer and to their union two children, Glen Booher and Diana Booher Spencer, were born. In 1976 he married Wanda Stubblefield Davenport with whom he shared the remainder of his life. After a brief time as a route salesman for Fairmont Dairies in Guthrie and then Wonder Bakery in Oklahoma City, Frank became a business agent and ultimately president for the Teamsters Union Local 886. He later retired from Fred Jones Ford where he had enjoyed a successful career as an automobile salesman and service manager. Upon retirement, he and Wanda relocated to a farm near Holdenville, OK, where he fulfilled his lifelong dream of ranching and raising longhorn cattle. His interest in sports did not wane. For many years he coached youth baseball, and played and coached in men's softball leagues. In his effort to develop young athletes, he was a co-founder of the OK Kids Association. Not only did Frank develop championship teams but also lifelong friendships that were his real trophies. Frank developed a love for sports, country music, and people. His devotion to family, friends, and community was constant. His uncanny ability to remember your name and to make all he met feel special was his unique gift. At the time of his death Frank was serving on the board of directors of the Hughes County Rural Water District #3, the chairman of the board of First Christian Church in Holdenville, and had recently retired from the Hughes County Fair Board. His wife, Wanda, of 25 years, Glen and Diana and their spouses, Diana Booher and Larry Spencer, survive Frank. Five grandchildren survive, Emily, Whitney and Jeffrey Booher, and Audra Spencer and Anita Spencer Strickler and her husband James. Also surviving are his sister, Carolyn and her husband Harold Morse, two brothers, Curt and Jim and his wife Jo, his sister-in-law Betty Cochran, his aunt, Thelma Pierce Saulsberry, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and business associates, all of whom are shocked by his sudden and unexpected passing. Frank's moral leadership, undying friendship, and heart full of love will be missed by many. Funeral arrangements have been made at Hudson Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville. Funeral services are planned at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 12 at First Christian Church in Holdenville, 9th and Oak, with burial at Holdenville Cemetery. The body will lie in state at Midwest Boulevard Christian Church, 320 North Midwest Boulevard, Midwest City, Oklahoma, on Tuesday, December 10 from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
