All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Bowers, Anna Elizabeth Ray Anna Elizabeth Ray, died Aug. 27, 2002. She was born to T.G. Irick and Anna Bowles Irick on June 8, 1908, at Pilot Point, TX. She lived there until graduation from high school. At the age of 18 she moved to Okla. City and lived with her brother, Frank, and his family while working and attending business school. Anna married Ernest Clifford Ray (C. Ray) Sept. 28, 1929. He preceded her in death in 1980. To this union were born two daughters, Doris Ann and Sharon Beth. Sharon Beth died in infancy. In 1990, Anna married George E. Bowers. He preceded her in death in 1994. During her active years, Anna's life was filled with her family, home and church. She also kept books for C. Ray's business for many years. She served as World Missions President of Okla. City First Church of the Nazarene, taught Sunday School in the children's dept., was a nursery attendant, and mixed gallons of hot chocolate on Saturday nights so the boys of the Straight Shooters' Class could have a treat on Sunday mornings. She loved her Lord and was a faithful Christian in life, reading her Bible and talking to God in prayer as a way of life. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Anna is survived by daughter, Doris Blankenship & husband Harold; granddaughter, Janice Dickerson & husband Gary; grandson, Mark Blankenship & wife Karen; grandson, Stephen Blankenship; granddaughter, Annette Rustin & husband Stuart; 7 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren, and several nephews & nieces. Memorials may be made to The Straight Shooters, Inc., P.O. Box 823, Edmond, OK 73083, or OKC Compassion of Penn. Ave. Church of the Nazarene, 1121 N. Penn. Ave., OKC 73107.
