Burke, 87 of Oklahoma City, OK, died Sunday, August 14, 2005. He was born August 22, 1917, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania to Martin and Sarah (Drake) Burke. He was one of eleven children. Don was employed by Singer Company and specialized in office equipment sales. He followed his success to sales manager and rose to branch manager after 24 years of employment in Wichita, Kansas. Don began a new journey with Brandt selling coin machines. After five years of employment out of the Oklahoma City office, he retired. Don was a Corporal in the Air Force from 1941-1945 and served during World War II. He was a Tour Director for ten years with the Oklahoma Retired Citizen's Travel Club. Don lived his life with a constant passion for family, self-improvement, knowledge, faith and economic trends. He was a leader and a philosopher. Don was a son, a brother, a husband, a father, a grandfather, a great grandfather and a friend. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Catherine and Don were lovingly married for 59 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Marty and Sonny, and four sisters, Lucille, Thelma, Louise and Jo. He is survived by his wife Catherine Burke of the home; two sisters, Shirley Broumbaugh of Lewistown, Pennsylvania and Mary (Lib) Confer of Belleville Pennsylvania; two brothers, Dick Burke of Connecticut, Ohio and Ed Burke of Duluth, Minnesota; one son, Kenneth Burke of Gretna, Louisiana; one daughter-in-law, Patricia (Farmer) Burke or Gretna, Louisiana; three grandsons, and their wives, Bennett and Karen Burke of Allen, Texas, Lt. Col. Randall and Elaine Burke of Woodbridge, Virginia and Barrett and Cathy Burke of Litchfield, New York; great grandchildren include, Josie, Declan, Andrew, Patrick, Brendan, Allison and Erica Burke. Family will be at the funeral home to receive guests on Wednesday, August 17th, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 18, 2005, at Mayfair Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
