She went to Brownsville, TX to join the American Red Cross of which she later became the Assistant Field Director. She transferred and was stationed at Camp Wallace outside of Galveston, TX until the end of the war. Her husband, Jack Ewell Brooks, whom she married on September 30, 1944 and was with for 58 years, survived Sue. Her two sons Robert "Michael" and Randy Hall, Michael's wife Betty and their two daughters Stefanie and Beth, her husband Steve and three children, D.J., Carly and Jake, also survived her. Active in PTA, Little League Baseball and Cub Scouts, she was considered a loving mother who participated and supported her children in their activities. Known for her tenaciousness and straightforwardness, Sue was blessed with a heart deep and rich in goodness. Sue was a member of First Christian Church of Oklahoma City and expressed her gratefulness for the prayers and support that she received. May God grant her dreams, wishes and give her the peace that she so badly desired as she left this world and enters His kingdom. A service is scheduled for family only.
