All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Barrett Jr., Jack William Jack William Barrett, Jr., 56, of 317 Middleton Court, Moore, South Carolina, died Thursday, September 12, 2002 in the Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born in Ardmore, Oklahoma, he was the son of Dorothy Shefield Barrett of Oklahoma City and the late Jack William Barrett, Sr. He was a 1964 graduate of Wilson High School in Wilson, Oklahoma and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater in 1968. Mr. Barrett retired from the Federal Government with 33 years of service as an Electrical Engineer having worked with Eglin Air Force Base in the Electronic Warfare Test Squadron for the past nine years, had served with the 18th Civil Engineer Squadron at Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan for nine years, the Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, and also with the 1605th Air Base Wing, Lajes Field in Azores, Portugal. Having lived in Fort Walton Beach, Florida for the past nine years, he was a member of the Unity Way of Life Church and had recently moved to Moore to attend Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg. Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Rebecca Ruth Fields Barrett of the home. Three children, Paula Kaye Tyson and husband, Rodger Tyson of Huntsville, Alabama, Johnna Pat Barrett of Oklahoma City, David Glendon Barrett and wife, Lisa Ann of Jacksonville, Florida, David A. Newman of Fort Walton Beach. Three grandchildren, Amanda Michelle Graham, Krystal Deanne Graham and Noah Carter Barrett. Two brothers, Gary Michael Barrett of Copperass, Texas and Lt. Col. Richard A. Edwards of Upper Heyford, England. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 14th at 11:00 a.m. at the Lanford Pollard Chapel conducted by Dr. Kirk H. Neely. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
