All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Birdwell, Irma Irene Irma Irene Birdwell 1/21/1920 12/21/2002 Irene Birdwell went to be with her Lord December 21, 2002. Her love and friendship will be sorely missed here on earth. She passed after having succumbed to pneumonia. She leaves her son Terry, his wife Christine, grandchildren Michael and Phillip Sverha and Katie and Thomas Birdwell of Beaverereek, Ohio, numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved cousin Francis Davis of Madill, Oklahoma. She was born to Benjamin Floyd Crabtree and Fanny Young Bond Crabtree in Colbert, Oklahoma on January 21, 1920. During her childhood she developed a strong work ethic on the family farm. Many of her early adult years were spent caring for patients at the Tuberculosis Sanitarium in Talihina, Oklahoma. During that time she was stricken with the disease twice. When she married Thomas Milton (T.M.) Birdwell on August 18, 1948 her life was completely dedicated to caring for her precious family. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, moved the family to Fort Hood Texas when T.M. was called to active duty in the U.S. Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis, and accomplished the unending duties of a loving wife and mother. Her artistic talent came through in the detailed ceramic pieces she created for friends and family. She attended Kelly Avenue Christian Church and First Christian Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The most recent months of her life were spent near Dayton Ohio where she enjoyed seeing her grandchildren often. She was preceded in death by her parents, seven siblings, and husband. The funeral service is to be at Guardian North Funeral Home at 2 pm Monday, December 30, 2002. Internment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. GUARDIAN NORTH 11600 N.
