Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Church of the Nazarene in Bethany with Larry Pruitt, pastor, and Emmitt Taylor, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery. Arrangements are by Bill Merritt Funeral Services. Mary was born Feb. 15, 1932, in Morris, Okla. to Charles Monroe and Grace Gladys (Landry) Biege. She grew up in Konawa, Okla. In 1950, she graduated from Konawa High School, where she played varsity sports, worked on the yearbook and performed in the one-act play. Thinking her daughter needed to make her way in the world, her mother sent Mary to live with family members in Guymon, Okla. While there she found more than a job; she found the love of her life. Mary Lou, often called EmmaLou by family and friends, married William Jennings Bryan Jr. on Sept. 30,1951, in Guymon's First Church of the Nazarene, and began her life as a Navy man's wife. The couple eventually settled in Bethany and raised their family, She worked for Moore Auto Supply in Bethany for 32 years. During that time she went from bookkeeper to office manager and had committed the bulk of the store's vast inventory to memory. Ill health forced her move to Amarillo in 2000. Mary Lou was a woman of faith, whether discussing that faith as a teen while fishing with her father or living it while sharing hugs each Sunday as a greeter at her church. She was a member of Calvary Church of the Nazarene. She lived life with a song in her heart, and usually one on her lips as well. She wrote poetry and enjoyed sharing family legends and lore with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Charles Biege, Bill Biege and infant, D.X. Biege; and by her husband, Bill, on Aug. 10, 1990. Survivors include a son, Barry Lee Bryan of Sacramento, Calif.; two daughters, Brenda K. Jennings of Amarillo, and Pamela Sue Bryan of Bethany; a brother, John Carroll Biege of Oklahoma City; a sister, Betty Jane Cantwell of Blanchard, OkIa.; nine grandchildren, Christopher Bryan, Cameron Bryan, Chandra Bryan and Colby Bryan, all of California, Bryan Jennings of Bethany, Melissa Elder of Norman, OkIa., Audrey Jennings of Amarillo, and Andrea Bryan and Brendan Bryan, both of Bethany; and one great-grandson, Ezra Elder of Norman.
