Burns, 81, of Amarillo, died Friday, July 16, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Rector Funeral Home Chapel, 2800 S. Osage, with Jimmy Gillmore, pastor of Riverview Baptist Church in Borger, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Burns was born in Hope, N. M. and had lived in the Texas Panhandle for most of his life. He was an accountant for Diamond Shamrock for more than 30 years and retired in 1986. In 1996, he moved from Borger to Amarillo. He was a musician and a Baptist. He married Argie Bell Neill in 1958 at Oklahoma City. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Barbara Jo Davis of Perryton and Bobbie Sue Baker of Wheeler; a son, Robert Clifford Burns of Arlington; a stepdaughter, Donna Kelley of Citronelle, Ala.; two sisters, Geraldine Meyer of Borger and Monte Jean Cribbs of Winslow, Ariz.; a brother, Lloyd Burns of Borger; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. The family suggests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center; or Alzheimer's Association, Panhandle Chapter, 2200 W. 7th, Amarillo, TX 79106.
