All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Oakmont Memorial Park--Lafayette CA Barton, William Edgar William Edgar Barton Nov. 1, 1936 - June 20, 2007 Resident of Pleasant Hill William Barton, 70, died peacefully at home in Pleasant Hill in the company of his beloved wife of 50 years, Shelba Barton; and daughter, Lisa Barton. William was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1936. His family moved to California when he was 2 years old. William graduated from Antioch High School. It was there that he met his loving wife, Shelba. After graduating, William joined the Army where he spent 2 years in Germany. William and Shelba settled in Pleasant Hill, CA, where they raised 3 daughters. William worked in construction as a member of the Steamfitters Union Local #342, and Boilermaker Union Local #549. He enjoyed camping, hiking, trips to the ocean, traveling, remodeling his daughters' homes, and spending time with his family. History was his real passion. He is survived by his wife, Shelba; mother, Pauline Barton; brother, Raymond Barton; daughters, Kelly Moran (Robert), Lisa Barton and Laura Lammon; 5 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Preceded in death by his father, Banjamin (Ben) Barton; and brother, Jerry Barton. William was a loving and caring husband and father. Friends are invited to attend services on Monday, June 25, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the Inspiration Chapel at Oakmont Memorial Park, 2099 Reliez Valley Road, Lafayette, CA.
