BICKFORD Funeral services for Harry L. Bickford, 76, will be Tuesday at 1:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Ardmore, OK. Graveside services will be Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Edmond, OK. Harry L. Bickford was born on February 26, 1926 in Oklahoma City, OK to Harry and Minnie Martin Bickford and died December 14, 2002 at his home in Ardmore. He and the former Louise Dixon were married on November 30, 1946 in Oklahoma City. Harry graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1944. During WWII he was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge and Bronze Star while serving in the Battle of the Bulge in 75th Infantry and attained the rank of Sergeant First Class. He graduated from Oklahoma City University with a Doctorate of Law Degree in 1953. In 1958 he established his law practice in Ardmore where he practiced until his death. In 2001, he received the Distinguished Service Award from the Oklahoma Bar Association. He also served his community as a state representative, Judge on the Court of Judiciary, Appellate Division, President of the Carter County Bar Association and Oklahoma Bar Foundation, Board of Governors, and President of the Oklahoma Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He is survived by his wife Louise Bickford of the home; daughters, Marsha Gunter of Piedmont, OK and Vickie Wagner of Edmond, OK; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Harry Richard Bickford. Funeral services are under the direction of the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home of Ardmore, OK.
