Borrell, 47, Tipton, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Gray Gish Funeral Home Chapel, Frederick, with Johnny Flores, officiating. Mr. Borrell died Monday, June 2, 2003, in Salida, Colo. Burial will be at Tipton Municipal Cemetery. He was born June 2, 1956, in Reading, Pa., to Samuel George Borrell and Kay Elizabeth Spurlin Smith. His family moved to Oklahoma City when he was 7, and he graduated from Carl Albert High School in Midwest City. He has lived in the Frederick/Tipton area for the past 17 years. He was assistant manager and vice president of Smith Greyhounds and Cattle Farms. He established and developed biking and hiking trails at both Lake Frederick and Tom Stead, as well as promoted an Annual Bike Race at Tom Steed Reservoir. He was a member of the Kiowa County Renegades Bike Club, The National Off-Road Bicycle Association and the National Greyhound Association. Survivors include his mother, Tipton; his father and stepmother, Cindy, Fleetwood, Pa.; a brother, Daniel Borrell, Edmond; five sisters and four brothers-in-law: Gale Hunt, Tipton; Lynn and Jim King, Panama City Beach, Fla.; Carol and Barry Alexander, Chandler, Ariz.; Cynthia and Herman Smith, Frederick; and Sherry and Chris Kelly, Walters; an aunt, Patty Breshears and her husband, Jerry, Snyder; two uncles: Michael Spurlin, San Antonio; and Tom Manski and his wife, Naomi, Seguin, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Arthur Smith, in 1998.
