All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery--OKC OK Covey, George George Willis passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2003 at Integris Baptist Medical Center, after a period of failing health. He was born April 23, 1927 in Kansas, Illinois, to Harry and Mame Covey. He served our country in the Army during World War II. He retired from the Santa Fe Railroad after 35 years of employment. He was past president of the 89"ers Baseball Fan Club and past president of the Board of Directors of the Santa Fe Credit Union. He was married to his wife, Peggy, June 1, 1951, and was the father of sons, Keith Covey, of Oklahoma City, and Scott Covey of New Orleans, LA. He was the proud grandfather of Ryan and Rayna Covey of Edmond, OK. George is also survived by brothers, Ben Covey and Gerry Covey and sisters, Julia Robinson and Melinda Lewis. George will also be missed by Janie Covey and his "coffee buddies," John Andrews and Jodie Sharpe. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Patsy Covey and Mary Linn Combs. The family invites visitors to the funeral home on Tuesday, February 25, 2003 between 6 and 8 o'clock. A Graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 26 at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family wishes to thank Dr. Amil, Dr. Khan and all the Integris Baptist Medical Center staff who cared for him during his illness and special thanks go to Carolyn and Shawn who so compassionately cared for him.
