All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Covel, Toni Toni, 57, went to heaven in peace on September 22, 2002. At her home, while her family and nurse surrounded her bed, she passed away from us. Toni was born Toyia Lou Taylor on February 6, 1945. As a young teenager, Toni put her faith in the Lord Jesus and was baptized at Capitol Hill Baptist Church. She attended Capitol Hill High School where she met and married Gene Covel. They were lifelong sweethearts and best friends. Toni and Gene celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on July 28. When Toni entered Heaven she was reunited with her dad, A.B. Taylor, Jr., her little brother Tommy, her grandparents Dear and Poppy, and Granddaddy Big Truck. Toni leaves a heritage of love and service to her husband Gene, and their children: sons Gary Covel & his wife Tina, Greg Covel & his wife Shannon, daughter Toyia Wells & her husband Clay. Toni and Gene are blessed with nine grandchildren: Bucky & Toyia Ann Covel, Jordan, Reagan, MacKenzie, Baylee & Jadon Covel, Cameron & Harli Wells. Toni is also survived by her mother Mary Lou Taylor, her sister Terrie Harris, brother-in-law Ronnie Covel, parents-in-law Bill & Finley Clausen, and grandmother Alma McCalip. The family wants to especially give love and thanks for the support given by good friend Ray, hospices nurses Kim and Pam, and Brother Jim. Toni loved her family and her home. She loved this time of the year, enjoying the fall colors. She enjoyed decorating and could make something beautiful out of an old stick and some dried grass. She also enjoyed spending time in her flower garden and taking care of her pesky dog, Bo Bo. If you were fortunate enough to know Toni, then you also know that the best way you can honor her memory is to devote your life to loving your family, as she did. We will hold her close in our hearts until we meet again. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 26, 2002. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens VONDEL L.
