All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Resthaven Memory Gardens--OKC OK Cooper, Jessie Mae Blackburn Jessie Mae Blackburn Cooper, of OKC, passed away March 31, 2003 to join her Lord. She was born June 23, 1914 in Seminole, OK and married Roscoe Cooper in Shawnee on Dec. 23, 1933. They lived in Dale, OK and New Mexico prior to moving to OKC during WWII. She was preceded in death by her husband Roscoe H. Cooper; mother Gertrude Florence Fry Blackburn; father Thomas Jefferson Blackburn; brother Leonard Blackburn; sister Mayme Marrs; and nephew Orean Marrs. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Shirley Cooper Workman & Phillip Workman; granddaughter Lori Workman Hayes and husband Scott; and niece Lou Abernathy. Mrs. Cooper loved all members of her beloved Kentucky Ave. Church in OKC, its pastor, and members. She and Roscoe were active in church programs, and church was a big part of their lives. She did a lot of knitting and sewing. One of her masterpieces was a rhinestone cowboy suit she made for her granddaughter at a young age. Jessie & Roscoe enjoyed winter vacations and fishing in Harlingen, TX with their friends from OKC & TX. In earlier times, they would vacation with Jessie's sister, Mayme Marrs at Idlewild near Eagle Nest, NM. Jessie worked at John A. Brown's Capitol Hill store for many years. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, April 3, 2003 at Kentucky Ave. Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, with interment to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens. VONDEL L. SMITH & SON MORTUARY 6934 S.
