All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Cox, Larry Eugene Larry Eugene Cox of Edmond, age 59, passed away at home on August 7, 2005. Larry was born in Hamilton, Missouri on September 23, 1945 to James and LouElla McCrary- Cox. After graduating from high school in Hamilton in 1963, Larry went on to attend the University of Missouri in Columbia and graduated in 1967 with a degree in agriculture. On January 22, 1967, he married Judy Fortner of Lockwood, Missouri. They had their first child, Laurel Michelle on May 28, 1968. He enlisted in the US Army in August of that year and served in Germany where he was named the Soldier of Germany and the Soldier of Europe. Following the family's return to the States, their second daughter, Kristen Nicole was born October 17, 1970. The family returned to Larry's home town of Hamilton where he farmed the land his grandfather had farmed before him. He grew everything from corn to alfalfa to soybeans, and particularly loved his sunflower fields. His son, Justin Tyler, was born on July 15, 1981. The family moved to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma in May of 1984 where he embarked on a new career in Real Estate. A move was made to Oklahoma City in 1987 where he founded United Realty Associates. After Judy fell off of two different porches and broke both arms within the same week, Larry decided that a career in Physical Therapy might prove beneficial. He graduated from the Physical Therapy program at Langston University in 1993. In physical therapy, Larry found his true calling where he could exhibit his remarkable compassion, humor, and therapeutic skills, earning the love and respect of his patients and colleagues. Larry married Magdalena Losantas on February 20, 2001. They enjoyed five wonderful years together, sharing their love for music and each other. In November of 2004, Larry and Maggie were both overjoyed when they were able to bring Maggie's sons, Arnel and Arjay Losantas, to the United States from the Philippines. Some of Larry's favorite things were spending time with the people he loved, football, and conservative talk radio. His favorite colors were red, white and blue. Larry is preceded in death by his father and grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Magdalena Cox of Edmond; his three children: Laurel Glendening and her husband, Robert, Kristen Cox and Justin Cox, all of Oklahoma City; his step-sons Arnel and Arjay Losantas of the home, his step-children Arlene and Archie Losantas of the Philippines; his grandsons Robert and Nicholas Glendening of Oklahoma City, his step-grandson Kristopher Allen Losantas of the Philippines, his mother, Lena Louella Cox and his sister and brother-in-law, Pam and Jim Sweiven of Hamilton, Missouri; the mother of his children, Judy Casey; numerous nieces and nephews, and countless friends. Services will be held at Smith and Kernke Funeral Home, 14624 N. May Avenue at 2pm Thursday, August 11th with burial at Spring Creek Cemetery.
