"Wild Bill" William T. (known as Wild Bill) was born January 18, 1922 to E.B. and Willie Lee Cooke in Oklahoma City, OK and passed away August 27, 2005. He graduated from Central High School and attended O.U. University where he was a member of ROTC. He served in the Army Air Corp and served in WWII and was stationed in Ogden, Utah and received an honorable discharge. His first employment was as a radio announcer at KOCY and KOMA. He spent many years as an independent gasoline station owner and operator. He retired from the Oklahoma Tax Commission. He loved the outdoors and spent many days hunting and fishing. Bill had a great love of trees and planted many varieties at his home in OKC. He was especially proud of his many dogwoods that he brought from their cabin at Lake Tenkiller. He will be greatly missed by his loving family, who feel he is in heaven with many friends who have preceded him in death. Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years, Janette (Harrell) Cooke; two sons: Shane T. and wife, Paula and William H. and wife, Sharen ; four grandchildren: Kris Cooke, Jeff Cooke, Tiffany Cooke and Shanna Cooke Smith and husband, Eric. Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at Arlington Memory Gardens.
