All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Mercer Adams FH--Bethany OK Cotton, James Neal "Jim" James "Jim" Neal, 79, Bethany, passed away Feb. 25, 2003. He was born Oct. 2, 1923 in Putnam, OK to Forrest E. & Virginia (Stanton) Cotton. After graduating from Taloga High School in 1941, he attended Southwestern State in Weatherford, OK. He married Ruth Lane on Nov. 26, 1942 and entered the Army Air Corps in Jan. 1943 where he served until the end of WWII. He returned to OKC and graduated from Blackwood Business College in Sept. 1951. He was Secretary-Treasurer for the Okla. Operating Co. for 27 years. He retired from the Okla. Tax Commission in 1988. He was a member of Classen Blvd. Baptist Church. He was the proud father of four boys. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruth; sons, Phil & wife Cherie, OKC, Scott & wife Karen, OKC, Rex of Newcastle, and James & wife Monica, Aurora, Mo; grandchildren: Wendy & Brian Cunningham, OKC, Leslie & Todd Griffith, Newcastle, Jessica Chester, OKC, Cyrena Cotton, OKC, Colette & Sid Helms, Bethany, Amanda Cotton, Newcastle, Anthony & Jamie Cotton, Bethany, and Jackie Fruzza, Aurora, MO; great grandchildren: Carsyn & Alec Cunningham and Lauren & Jocelyn Helms; sisters-in-law, Lil & Cliff Staude, OKC, and Doris & Louis Bunch, OKC, and many nieces & nephews. Also, his closest friends of 65 years, Naoma & Elsworth Squires of Taloga, OK. Jim will always be remembered for his quick wit, quiet ways and dry sense of humor. Each of his sons are a testament to Jim's strength of character. His love, fairness and values will live on in his children and his children's children. We all had the privilege of sharing our love & goodbyes with him before he went to be with the Lord. Dad took a little trip to Heaven to be with those who loved him first. We will miss him a lot but will see him soon. Services will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday, Feb. 28, 2003 at Mercer Adams Funeral Service, Bethany.
