Colburn, age 81, of OKC, passed away August 28, 2002. He was born in Independence, KS, on August 4, 1921, to Reno and Wessie Colburn. Jack served in the Army Air Corp during WWII where he attained the rank of Major. He and his family lived many years in Ft. Worth until he moved to Oklahoma City in 1977. Jack was retired and a member of the Elks Lodge for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Toni, and his son, Jack Jr. Jack is survived by his wife, Bette Colburn of OKC; son, Max Colburn and his wife, Cyndi, grandchildren, Kelly and Zak, all of Mansfield, TX; son, William A. Colburn of Austin, TX; and best friends, Ron and Cindy Payne. The family would like to extend their special thanks to Janie Peters and Denya Cornelius of Hospice of Oklahoma County, for the exceptional care given to Jack in his last days. Jack was a wonderful man that enjoyed a full life and will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday, August 30, at the Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Chapel with, interment the same day at 5 p.m., in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Independence, Kansas. Those wishing to honor Jack's memory by making donations may do so to Hospice of Oklahoma County.
