Died March 1, 2003, in Oklahoma City. Virginia taught French, Latin, and English for many years until her retirement in 1977. She also worked in the Department of Censorship in Chicago, IL, during World War II. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Rose Parrish, and by her husband, Charles E. Collins. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Riden and husband Jim; two grandchildren, David Riden, Michael Riden and wife Dawn; great grandson, Seth; two sisters, Fern Westerlin of Louisville, KY, Alda Turner and husband, Charles of Dixon, IL and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 6, 2003 at St. John's Episcopal Church. Burial will be in New Port Richey, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations made to the American Cancer Society, Mobile Meals of OKC, or the retirethe-debt fund, St. John's Episcopal Church.
