All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Durant Daily-Democrat 9 Dec 2004 Foster Fredrick Cain, 77 Services for Foster Fredrick Cain, 77, a longtime Atoka-area resident, who died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at the Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman, Texas, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Brown's Funeral Chapel, Atoka. Rev. Bob Graham, Rev. Jerry Williams and Rev. Joe Chapin will officiate. He was born June 6, 1927, in Foss to Foster F. and Ruby Mae (Standard) Cain. He graduated from high school in Sentinel. He was a longtime newspaper publisher and owner of the Atoka County Times. He worked a number of years for the Daily Oklahoman in the latter 1960s and the 1970s. He married Louise Hight Cain on Dec. 2, 1976, at Wards Chapel Baptist Church. Foster served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was ranked as Printer 3rd Class. He was inducted into the Oklahoma Press Association Half Century Club, honoring more than 50 years of serving Oklahoma newspapers. He was preceded in death by his father on March 30, 1978, and his mother on Feb. 11, 2000; son James Andrew Cain on Sept. 11, 1999; and brother-in- law Willard Cochran on May 18, 1988. He is survived by his wife, of the home in Atoka; children Alan Foster Cain, Grand Culle, Wash., Steve Lee Cain, Oklahoma City, Mark Cain, Atoka, and Linda Linscott and husband Ronald of Atoka; brother Joe Herbert Cain and wife Linda, Grand Ridge, Fla.; sister Evelyn Margaret Cochran, Mesa, Ariz.; mother-in-law Ellen Hight, Atoka; grandsons Ethan Hight Linscott, Gavin Foster Cain and Gabriel, Lucas, Merlin and Dillon Cain; granddaughter Mattlyn Rae Cain; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives; and many very dear and loved friends. Interment will be in Green Meadows Cemetery, Atoka, with Jim Pool, Kenneth Hamilton, Danny Scroggins, Bob Frederick, Jay Mooneyham, Neal Merriott, Jack Parker and James Granger serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Texoma Sams Camping Chapter; Charles Allen, David Crouch, Jake Edwards, Harold Haddock, Joe Murphy, David Thorton, Woody Walker and Wayne Wathall.
