Born in Albany, N.Y., Countryman served as a career army man and was a veteran of the Spanish-American War and World War II (sic). He came to Oklahoma City in 1943 following his retirement from the service in 1926 and made his home at 1732 Pettee. He was a member of the Methodist church and the American Legion.
