Cunningham, John Arthur

John Arthur Cunningham, age 87, passed away on Saturday, 6 August 2005 in 
the Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born 9 June 1918 in 
Brownsboro, TX to John Archie and Dora Adeline (Hennessee) Cunningham. 
John was married to Geneva Helen Lawrence on 16 December 1938 in Lawton, 
OK. He worked a number of years for Oklahoma Transportation Company, then 
later worked in automobile sales. John retired in 1985 from Mack Truck, of 
Oklahoma City, OK, as their Used Truck Manager. John had been a long time 
member of the Village Baptist Church, where he was an active member of the 
church choirs. John loved music and was also an avid fisherman for most of 
his life. John is survived by his wife of 66 years, Geneva; two sons, John 
R. and wife Judy and Ronald L. and wife Patti, all of Oklahoma City; three 
grandchildren, John Lee and Julie M. Cunningham of Oklahoma City, OK and 
Cari L. Cunningham of Denver, CO; a sister Eva Nell Paul of Lawton, OK; 
two nieces Donna Gay Bozarth and Nelda Kay Watson; and numerous cousins. 
He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter. Services will 
be at 10:00 am, Tuesday, August 9, 2005 in the Village Baptist Church, 
Oklahoma City, OK. Interment will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery 
under the direction of Guardian Funeral Home, North Chapel. In lieu of 
flowers, contributions may be made to Village Baptist Church Building 
Fund, 10600 N. May Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73120.
