All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Carpenter, Thelma Gardner Thelma Gardner Carpenter was born the daughter of John Houston Gardner and Jessie Savage on June 7, 1908 in Gordo, Alabama. She died Thursday, September 12, 2002 in Oklahoma City. Thelma graduated from Lexington H.S. and Oklahoma City University. Since 1942 she has lived in OKC, and at the time of her death resided at Epworth Villa. She was a former 4th grade teacher at Crooked Oak School and a member of First Baptist Church. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Haskell in1993. Her survivors include a sister, Esther Beal of Kopperl, TX.; one son, Ken Carpenter and wife, Mary Alice of Baton Rouge, LA; Grandchildren, David Carpenter and wife, Ann of Los Angeles, CA., Andrea Smith and husband, Andy of Denver, CO.; two great grandchildren, Zeke Carpenter and Sean Smith; two nieces and four nephews. Visitation will be 8:00-10:00 am., Sat. Sept. 14, 2002 at the Funeral Home with Graveside Services following at 11:30 am in Lexington Cemetery. GUARDIAN NORTH 11600 N.
