Curtis, retired Baptist minister, died Wednesday morning, August 9, 1950 in her home north of Britton after an illness of several months. She moved there from Oklahoma City in 1940. Mrs. Curtis, a native of Indiana, was married to J.F. Curtis 56 years ago in Missoui. The couple settled in Roger Mills County about 50 years ago. Rev. Curtis retired in 1942, after 35 years in the ministry, during which he held pastorates at Hammon, Leedey, Fredrick, Hollister and other Oklahoma cities. Mrs. Curtis, active in the Baptist church for 64 years, is also survived by one daughyter, Mrs. A.M. Easterwood, Britton; four sons, R.F. Curtis, Hammon; Rev. C.D. Curtis, Abilene, Texas; J.H. Curtis, Port Angelus, Washington, and Roy J. Curtis, Victoria, Texas, and four brothers, John Baker, Locksburg, Arkansas; Ed Baker, De Queen, Arkansas, iJm Baker, Worland, Wyoming, and Frank Baker, Stockton, California, 14 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. Services for Mrs. J.F. Curtis, Oklahoma City, will be conducted Friday, August 11, 1950 in the Baptist Church at Britton. Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma, where the burial will be.
