Crawford 5/27/1913 - 3/5/2003 Roy Crawford, longtime resident of Oklahoma City, peacefully passed away at his Long Beach home on March 5, 2003. He was preceded in death by his precious sweetheart and wife of 65 years, Mildred Elaine (Simmons) Crawford. Roy and Mildred were the patriarch and matriarch of their family, sharing deep Christian faith and hope, optimism, courage and love of life with all who knew them. Survived by devoted caregiver and daughter, Sherry Hale of Long Beach, CA; three adoring grandsons and families, Stephen and Verda Hale, great-granddaughters, Chelsea and Stephanie, and the Robert Lum family of Honolulu, HI; Brent and Mayela Hale, great-grandson, Justin of Long Beach, CA and the Campos family of Costa Rica; David and Sarah Hale, great-granddaughters Jenna and Lauren, and Jennie Lax of Nevada City, CA; and Robert Hale, international opera singer of Copenhagen, Denmark, father of Stephen, Brent and David. Other loving surviving family members are Henry Crawford of Grand Junction, CO; Cecil and Miriam Crawford of Hendersonville, NC; Maxine and CB Slemp and Beryl Simmons of Oklahoma City, OK; Bob and Arlene Simmons of Arkansas City, KS; Betty and Myron Kersten of Dublin, GA; Aldine Lee of Guthrie, OK; Charles and DeJuana Jones of Alexandria, VA; Elwood and Margorie Hale of Sylmar, CA; Edith and Garland Johnson of Yukon, OK and numerous nieces and nephews. Roy contributed to hundreds of lives in a gentlemanly, generous, compassionate and kindly manner through 35 years of service with Prudential Life Insurance Company, 10 years of selling Real Estate, and a lifetime of dedicated, service to the Lord Jesus and his beloved Church of the Nazarene, of which his father and mother, JH and Maggie Sloan Crawford were early founders and ministers. Roy with his eternal spirit of hope will be greatly missed. Middie, even after 5 years, we still miss you every day. Your family will always remember your endless love for each other and for each one of us. Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 15, 2003 at the Hahn-Cook/ Street & Draper chapel with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
