She was born May 25, 1917 in Oklahoma City. A graduate of Putnam City High School and Blackwood Business College, she was retired from the State of Oklahoma, Tax Commission. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lorry H. Davis; parents Leon and Mary Ellen Palmer; brother Hershel Palmer; sister Goldie Roberts and grandson Troy Word. She is survived by daughters, Marlene Word of Bethany, OK, Mary Ellen Nusz of Augusta, KS and a son Leon Davis of Mustang, OK; sister Geraldine Hardin of Bethany, OK; brother Charles Palmer of Albuquerque, NM; 9 grandchildren, Scott Word, Wendy Wilkerson, Cindy Cartmill, Jeff Nusz, Steve Davis, Tom Davis, Carrie Shockley, Jami Mohr and Dani Robison; and 12 great grandchildren. She was known as Winnie by all that loved her. She and Lorry were major doll collectors and designers for many years. She was known as 'Maw Davis' Leader of Youth programs at the Putnam City Christian Church, where she was a charter member, and Winnie was sure to tell all that she was a Christian. Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, August 17 at Putnam City Christian Church with interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. GUARDIAN WEST 41 & N.
