All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Davis, Rex Duane Rex Duane Davis, age 77, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 26, 2003 from his home, after a period of declining health. He was born July 20, 1925 near Weatherford, OK to Ray P. and Myrl B. Merrell Davis. He grew up in SW Texas and moved as a teenager to Cowden, OK. He was a graduate of Cowden High School, and after high school he entered the US Army and served in Japan during WWII. After military service he lived in Clinton where he was auto mechanic and was on the Clinton Police Department. He moved to Okla. City in 1952 where he started his 34 year career with Greyhound Bus Lines. During that period of time he drove over 3.3 million miles without a chargeable accident. Rex was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and a member of Mustang Assembly of God. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Ethel of the home, two daughters Deloris Crosswhite and husband Don of Piedmont, OK, Laquita Burdick of Yukon, six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one sister Helen Shivley of Lawton. Services will be held at 10AM on Wednesday, January 29, 2003 at Mustang Assembly of God with interment following at 2:30 PM in Sappingtons Chapel Cemetery, Cowden, OK under the direction of McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, OK.
