All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Davis, Elfriede Ludmilla Kolbl Ross Elfriede Ludmilla Kolbl Ross Davis joined her Lord and Savior on Dec. 27th, 2002 after a long illness. She was born to Josef and Johanna Kolbl in Linz, Austria on March 8th, 1929. She grew up in Linz and Steyr, Austria. While working in Steyr for the Austrian Missing Persons she met her 1st husband, Ira Lee Ross, where they married in 1949. Shortly thereafter she came to America with Ira, where they settled in OKC and began their family. Elfriede lost Ira in 1968 when he passed away after a lengthy illness. She raised three children, Sue, Tom, and Donnie. She attended Springdale Baptist Church regularly. She was active in the nursery, choir, and youth group, where she shared her love for the Lord with many. Some may remember her quite shared moments and others her faithful silence regarding youthful pranks while serving as cook and sponsor for Falls Creek Baptist Church Camp. While continuing to raise her 3 children she became a nursing assistant at Deaconess Hospital where she worked for many years. She was so proud to be a nursing assistant. She loved giving to others. Her compassion and caring for people was evident throughout her life. She married Elden Davis Sept. 14, 1985. They regularly attended Northwest Baptist Church. At Northwest Baptist she was a member of the Glory Gang. She loved serving the Lord with her beautiful voice. She was very proud to be a part of the Glory Gang. She and Elden enjoyed 17 years of marriage. They loved to travel, go to their lake place at Soldier Creek, and visit with their many friends and relatives. Throughout their marriage Elden was by her side providing the love and care she had always shown others throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Josef and Johanna Kolbl of Linz, and her 1st husband Ira Lee Ross. She is survived by her husband Elden Davis, of the home; children, Sue Curry and husband Brent of Tulsa, Tom Ross and wife Willa, and Don Ross and wife Rhonda; stepson, Scott Davis and wife Tina, all of Piedmont, OK; stepdaughter Kim Davis of OKC; sister Evelyn "Mucki" Smith and husband Bob of Ft. Wayne, IN; brother Josef "Pepe" Kolbl; and stepmother Friede Kolbl, both of Linz, Austria; cousin Liz Lee and her husband Don of OKC; grandchildren, Tyler, Amy, Heather, Clint, Justin, Emily, Sara, and Cory; great-grandchildren, Brook, Darbie, Brittany, and Darian; and a host of other friends and relatives from Oklahoma and Austria. Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, December 30, 2002 at Northwest Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. The family would like to thank Darlene Kenney and the staff of Grace Living Center for their special love and care.
