Dubberstein, lifelong Oklahoma City resident, died December 1, of cancer. A graduate of St. Johns College; he attended the St. Louis Theological Seminary in Missouri. He was an army veteran with service in Germany. A banker, he was a vice president of Quail Creek Bank at the time of his death. Loved and respected by a legion of friends, he had been an Athlete and was an avid OU football fan. He was predeceased by his parents, The Rev. A.C. and Marie Dubberstein. He is survived by his wife, Margaret, her daughter Shelly Knox and husband John, grandchildren Kathrine and Alexander Knox, her son Edward Charles and wife, his step-son John Welch and family, his sister Marilyn Mervelt and husband Jim, his brother Victor Dubberstein, his wife Rose Marie, brothers-in-law, Ellis L. Smith of Ft. Worth Texas, Stephen L. Smith of Dallas, Texas and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Tuesday Dec. 3, at 2:00 p.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, 3600 N.W. Expressway. Memorials may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (Cancer Division), OU Football Program, Okla. City Museum of Art Endowment, or other city, charities.
