"Judy" Deason Age 84, Oklahoma City, Graveside service will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Post Cemetery, Fort Sill with Rev. Herschel R. Lindsey officiating. Mrs. Deason died Saturday in an Oklahoma City care center. Burial will be under the direction of Becker Funeral Home. Judy was born September 7, 1920 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Dr. Vere S. and Maud Lane. She attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado and was a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. She married Bob Deason on June 3, 1942 in Fort Lewis, Washington, where LT Deason was stationed. He died July 15, 1983. Judy remained stateside in Glenwood Springs, Colorado while Bob fought in Europe during WWII. She joined Bob after the war in Germany where he was part of the occupation. They traveled to France, Germany, Austria, Italy, and Switzerland before returning to the U.S. to start a family. Her two sons, David and Donald were born while Bob was stationed at the Pentagon. Bob's military career took them to Japan, Hawaii, and Okinawa before coming to Fort Sill, where Bob retired in 1972. Judy's full time career was always that of an Army wife and mother, but she still found time for volunteer work at post hospitals and charity organizations. She will be remembered by all who knew her as a gracious, charming, witty, and capable lady with a smile for everyone. She brought joy to many people during her time on earth, and will be sorely missed. Judy is survived by to sons, David Deason and his wife Billie, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Donald Deason and his wife Tina, Edmond, and three grandchildren, Alanna, Colorado Springs, Paul, and Alaina, Edmond, and all of Judy's second family at St. Ann's Home in Oklahoma City.
