Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Trinity Chapel with the Rev. Doyle D. Patterson officiating. Burial was in the city of Lubbock Cemetery by White Funeral Home. Mr. Deahl was born in Washington D.C. He graduated from Fort Smith High School and attended the University of Arkansas. He worked in retail management for Woolworth for 16 years, Winns for seven years and retired from TG&Y after 18 years. He moved to Lubbock in 1968 from Midwest City, Okla. He was a member of Trinity church, was a member of the Primetimers Sunday School Class at Trinity and involved with the Caregivers Hospital Visitation Program. He married Jerry Alice McBride in 1950 at Fort Smith, Ark. Survivors include his wife; two sons, George Deahl Jr. of Amarillo and Charles James Deahl of Dallas; a daughter, Rebecca Barnett of Lubbock; a sister, Mary Jane Stokes of Shreveport, La.; and four grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Hospice of Lubbock, P.O. Box 53276, 1102 Slide Road, Suite 3, Lubbock, TX 79453.
