All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== John Dee Dunn John Dee Dunn, 79, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 1996. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle, with the Rev. Bob Murphy, seniorıs minister at Paramount Terrace Christian Church, and Dr. Harold Daniel, associate pastor of Polk Street United Methodist Church, officiating. Mr. Dunn was born in Oklahoma City. He attended New Mexico State University. He served with the Navy attached to the Marine Corps during World War II. He served in the South Pacific and received a Purple Heart. He moved to Amarillo 50 years ago and was a salesman in the plumbing business. He had been the owner of Pollyıs Pub for the last 20 years. He was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He married Ella Pauline "Polly" Dixon in 1971 at Amarillo. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Suzanne Ivy. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Jeff Burk of St. Louis, Richard E. Burk of San Antonio and Timothy J. Burk of Canyon; two sisters, Dorothy Armitage of Vega and Pearl Hardt of Phoenix; a brother, Roy Dunn of Muskogee, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The family will be at 5305 Randolph Road, and requests memorials be to St. Anthonyıs Hospice and Life Enrichment Center, P.O.
