'Dean' was born November 1, 1941 in Brighton, CO to Mary Frances Rogers and Henry James Dean. He was raised in Las Animas, CO and always considered that home. Dean joined the Navy at the age of 16 and served proudly for 8 years. During that time he married Carol Francis Draheim. Together they raised 6 children of their own and fostered many more. Dean's theory was 'It wasn't his money that raised a family, it was the love be had to share with them.' After the Navy, Dean spent 10 years as a long-haul semi-truck driver and even built 2 trucks from 'scratch.' For many years after, Dean and his father-in- law owned and operated TV repair shops together. But his pride was the 18 years he spent working at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City. He even starred in a Mercy emphysema commercial. Dean trained and mentored many young men in his work in Clinical Engineering until his retirement in 1997 due to health problems. Dean's favorite things to do were fishing, watching his lifelong favorite football team the 'Green Bay Packers' play, and getting together with his brothers and sister. His favorite foods were hamburger steak, popsicles and a cold glass of Koolaid. Dean lived a simple life, was loved by all and no one could tell a story like 'daddy.' The memories and stories he leaves behind will be cherished and retold by those who knew and loved him. Dean was preceded in death by his loving parents, his precious daughter, Sheri and adored son, James. He is survived by his former wife, Carol; son, Kenneth and wife, Michelle, their daughters, April and Tara of Lilburn, GA and Kenneth's daughter, Jennifer Dean- Murray of Edmond, OK. His son, Roger, his wife, Sharon, and children, Diane, David, Sarah, Carissa and Josh of Enid, OK. His daughter, Tina, husband, Mark Voudren and children, Jesse and Sheri of NY. His daughter, Carrie of Syracuse, NY. His brother, Sammy and wife, Nita of CO, his brother, Mike of Las Animas, CO. His sister, Emma and husband, Roy Cook of KS; his brother, Tommy and wife Barb of PA. His numerous beloved nieces and nephews. His special friends at Mercy, Mike Dixon, Mike Hester, Rex Franklin, Rick Dunn, Charles Hawkins, Ed Church, Kurt Reichert, Jerry Baumeister and Lillian Martin. His friends and neighbors at Uni-City Trailer Park in Edmond, OK. And his numerous other friends and family he loved dearly. In accordance to Deans wishes all of his personal possessions, including medical equipment, are being donated to nonprofit charities in the local area. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mercy Health Foundation/ Pediatrics, 4300 W. Memorial Road, Oklahoma City, OK 73120 in memory of Roger Dean. Baggerley Funeral Home 930 S.
