Duncan, 85, a devoted and loving wife, mother, and friend, passed from this earthly life to Eternal Glory on September 15, 2002, of congestive heart failure at an Arlington hospital. A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002 at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church with burial next to her late husband of 40 years, Robert Duncan, at Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will greet visitors at the funeral home Tuesday from 5 to 6:30 P.M. Pallbearers will be Robert Wershay, Lance Fleming, Rich Powell, Bob Hankey, John Brooks, Greg Appleby. The soloist will be Michele Baker. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made, if desired, to a church or charity of choice. Dorothy was born in Kay County, OK, near the land homesteaded by her ancestors in the Oklahoma Land Run in 1893. During World War II, she and her infant daughter, Sharry, traveled from border-to-border and coast-to-coast, following her husband's Naval career, then settled in Lyons, Kansas, where daughter, Denise was born. The family relocated to Oklahoma City in 1963 where Dorothy and her husband owned a major appliance store. For the past 7 years, Dorothy lived at Fox Run Estates in Arlington, where she met and married the late Warren Duddeck. The family wishes to thank the many doctors, nurses, hospital staft Vitas Hospice, and management at Fox Run Estates for their kind and loving care during her lengthy illnesses. 'I was glad when they said to me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.' Psalm 122:1 Survivors include daughters, Sharry Duncan Wershay and husband Bob of Ft. Worth, TX, and Denise Duncan Powell of Arlington, TX-; grandchildren, Heather Johnson of Jackson, MS, Lance Fleming and wife Jennifer of Las Vegas, NV, Rich and Chelsea Powell of Arlington, TX; sister Virginia Haney and husband Bob of OKC; sister-in-law Bea Brooks of OKC, and numerous nieces and nephews. Extended family, David and Deanna Wershay, Jack, Natalie and Joseph; Missy and David Druley; Mike and Linda Duddeck; and Debbie and Ken Agoriches, Paul and Nick. DEMUTH FUNERAL HOME 1145 W.
