"Charlie" Dry, 87, of Midwest City passed away Thursday, December 26. He was born in Coahoma, Texas on June 21, 1915 to Ralph Leroy Dry and Nora Amanda (Croft) Dry. Charlie was a devoted husband for 61 years to Hattie Mae (Sinclair) Dry who preceded him in death earlier this year. Charlie and Hattie Mae were married on Christmas Day 1940 in Oklahoma City. Charlie served in the U. S. Army from 1940 to 1945. He was a proud member of the 77th EVAC, a hospital evacuation unit, serving in North Africa, France and Belgium. After World War II Charlie began working for the U. S. Post Office, retiring in 1973. Charlie was also preceded in death by his parents, by brothers Ralph L. Dry and William C. Dry and by one sister, Katie Hogue. He is survived by one sister Estelle Huffman of Detroit, Michigan and a host of loving family members and friends. Charlie was deeply loved and respected by all who new him. Funeral services will be held Mon., Dec. 30, 2002 at 3:00 P.M. at Douglas Boulevard Methodist Church in Midwest City with interment at Kolb Cemetery.
